1. Shisha and hookah

The most demanding use. Cube briquettes heat tobacco without being allowed to change its flavour, so ash content and odour neutrality matter far more than peak heat.

2. BBQ and commercial grilling

Restaurants and caterers need heat that is high, even, and lasts through service. The hexagonal briquette with a centre hole is built for that — the hole draws air through the core so the coal lights faster and burns evenly.

3. Home grilling

For household use, what matters is easy lighting and sensible cost. Pillow shapes dominate here.

4. Space heating in four-season markets

In several export markets, charcoal and briquettes are used as heating fuel. What is demanded here is the lowest possible smoke and a long burn.

5. Small-industry fuel

Kilns, crop drying and small-scale heating processes use briquettes in place of fossil fuel. What is judged is calorific value per kilogram and supply reliability.

6. Filtration and purification

7. Soil amendment (biochar)

Charcoal made specifically for soil is called biochar. It improves soil structure, holds water, and houses microbes. This is the fastest-growing application of recent years.

8. Livestock and aquaculture

Charcoal is used as a feed additive and odour control in housing, at measured doses.

9. Craft and odour absorption

Small but real: absorbing odours in wardrobes, refrigerators and rooms.
